Land for Good Oil

My first blog is to thank the North Western Provincial Council of the Government of Sri Lanka for gifting Barefoot Economy with land to build an Essential Oil Processing facility to enable thousands of people to trade their way out of poverty.

Special thanks to Hon Minister Mr Wimaladasa (Ministry of Land, Agriculture, Irrigation and Animal Production Activities) and Hon Mr Wijesinghe, Chief Minister of the North Western Provincial Council. Their decision to help Barefoot Economy underpins the importance they place on establishing a world class essential oil export industry in Sri Lanka which also focus’ on helping the poorest rural people.

A big thank you to Hon Mr Balapatabendi, High Commissioner for Sri Lanka, Canberra and Mrs Gothami Indikadahena, Consul General of Sri Lanka, Sydney for believing in the importance of the project and making it happen.

Below is the Barefoot Economy land site in Mawathagama, in Kurunegala, North Western Province, Sri Lanka. To learn more about the work of Barefoot Economy please visit us at www.barefooteconomy.org
