The Fred P Archer Charitable Trust awards Barefoot Economy a grant for its work in developing countries.

Australian Ethical awards Barefoot Economy a 2006, 2007 and 2008 Community Grant for its work with rural poor communities in Sri Lanka and in Nepal.

My first blog is to thank the North Western Provincial Council of the Government of Sri Lanka for gifting Barefoot Economy with land to build an Essential Oil Processing facility to enable thousands of people to trade their way out of poverty.

Special thanks to Hon Minister Mr Wimaladasa (Ministry of Land, Agriculture, Irrigation and Animal Production Activities) and Hon Mr Wijesinghe, Chief Minister of the North Western Provincial Council. Their decision to help Barefoot Economy underpins the importance they place on establishing a world class essential oil export industry in Sri Lanka which also focus’ on helping the poorest rural people.
